About the Artist

Anna Siano-Lucianna is a self-taught artist and photographer. She enjoys creating visual distortions of everyday places through color and composition. She currently works in watercolor.

• 1969 Born in Italy 

• 1992 Earned Bachelor of Art Degree St. Peter's      University, Jersey City, NJ

• 1994 - present  Began working at FAITH Services (now Ryan White Program), a non-profit agency assisting clients infected with HIV, Hoboken, NJ

• 1996 Commissioned to paint a 350 square foot mural of local brownstone buildings, Journal Square PATH Station, Jersey City, NJ

• 1997 Participant in Hoboken Music and Art Festival selling painted works on pottery, furniture, and decorative items, Hoboken, NJ

• 1997 Participant in Group Art Exhibit featuring paintings in acrylics and oil with Student Art League of New Jersey City University, Jersey City, NJ

• 1999 - 2000 Travelled by car to east coast and southern states to photograph antique cemetery statuary and historical graveyards. Photographed cemeteries included New Orleans, Louisiana, Savannah,Georgia, Florida Keys, and Queens, New York

• 2000 'Requiem' exhibit of fine art photography images of cemetery statuary,  Hoboken Public Library, Hoboken, NJ

• 2003 'Inside-Out' photography project begins: a collaboration of black and white poet portraits featuring recitals of their works

• 2005 Participant in Hoboken Music and Art Festival  selling New Orleans photographs  and calendars of cemetery statuary to raise money for victims of Hurricane Katrina. Raised over $5,000.00 which was matched by St. Mary Hospital, Hoboken, NJ, and sent to the American Red Cross

• 2006 Completed 'Inside-Out' photography project

• 2006 Participant in Hoboken Studio Art Tour - featured show: 'Inside-Out' portraits of local poets as well as a live all-day poetry reading during the exhibit

• 2006 Collaborated n 'Images': a two-person photography exhibit of portraits, Wood-Ridge Memorial Library, Wood-Ridge, NJ

• 2007 'Inside-Out' Exhibit: month long exhibit of 42 poet portraits featuring a live poetry reading opening and closing show

• 2015 Earned Master of Science degree from New Jersey City University, Jersey City, NJ

• 2019 Began experimenting in watercolor painting
